Do aspiring musicians want to date groupies who know everything about their music or a girl who knows little?

I got asked out by this guy who is a local rapper. I've never been to a show and don't know any of his music. Should I eat sleep and breathe it until we go out on Wednesday or what? From his fb photos it seems he has a good amount of groupies.
